Why the Sock?
As I mulled over the idea of using a website to help process and distill all the available Regional Dispatch info, I happened upon a children's book, This is the Firefighter, whose illustrations captivated me.
If I could only find the artist and obtain permission to use some of his artwork, I might be inspired to face the formidable, larger task. I was fortunate to do both back in June '17.
Fast forward to early January '18, when, digging through the rag bin for other reasons, I discovered this lone, whimsical sock from my now 16-year-old son's infancy. What better bookend to this creative process, as I prepare to launch this site, than another cheerful reminder that, when needed, emergency service providers show up, in all kinds of forms!
